Sports Day 14/6/19

A huge thank you to everyone who have kindly volunteered to help with Sports Day. It’s not too late if you are able to spare the afternoon, please let me know. I have attached a list of helpers and their duties so far.
We are checking the weather regularly and will make a decision on Thursday afternoon should we need to postpone – for the time being Sports Day is going ahead.
Timings for the afternoon will be as follows:
11:45 – KS1 children will have picnic bag lunches outside. KS2 children to change into PE kits with house coloured t-shirts
12:00 – KS2 children to have packed lunches outside
12:30 – MDSA will blow the whistle for children to line up on the playground in house teams and be met by adult
12:35 – In alphabetical order, each activity proceeds to starting position
12:45 – First activity begins
Please ensure you double check your Parentpay lunch orders as the kitchen will not be serving hot meals on Friday (only baguettes in picnic bags). If we do not receive an order for your child by 8:30 am, we will assume that you are coming to Sports Day and providing your own family picnic.
Reminder – Thursday will be fish & chip day instead.

PTA Summer Fair 8/6/19

Hello all,
We are very excited about tomorrow’s fair… even with the rain! British Summer at its best. We are moving a few things into class 1 and reception but we are forever hopeful for it to be dry between 12 -3 at least… but please bring sensible (wellies!) shoes for the field.
We have 19 external stalls creating our very own Diagon Alley for you to wandered around.
For those who have pre booked meeting an owl, this will be in the first hour, so please go to the the owl gazebo by the entrance for timings on the day. We still have a few more spaces so do sign up on the day as well. £5 to meet, hold and have your photograph taken.
We have attached the stall manning list, please do check the list for your name! For those that are manning the first hour, please do arrive 10 minutes before to collect your float. Also for those that are on the last hour, you will need to sign in your float at the end, no need to count. For those who are helping with set up, fingers crossed the weather will be kind!
Floreys Tea Rooms still have seats available and it is not too late to book (form attached)
Please do bring back any raffles tickets that have either been sold or not and give into the raffle ticket stall.
If anybody is happy to lend easy assemble gazebo’s that would be much appreciated for rain cover and would be needed first thing in the morning, we will be at the school from early doors!
It would be really helpful if everyone could avoid parking or even driving down School Lane – it will be extremely busy with fire engines, horses & large vehicles.

Lunch arrangements for 13th & 14th June

As you are all aware it’s sports day next Friday 14th June so the kitchen will be providing baguette picnic bags only for lunch. Friday’s menu of fish fingers/quorn dippers and chips will be served on Thursday instead but please note that this will not be reflected in the menu selector of Parentpay. If you want your child to have fish fingers & chips on Thursday then please select the meatballs and if they prefer the quorn dippers then select the enchiladas. All orders must be in by 8:30am on Thursday morning. Thank you.

Class Photographs

The proofs are coming home in your child’s book bag today. Note that you cannot order online for obvious reasons so orders for extended family & friends need to be coordinated and sent back to the school office by 14th June. Ensure that you child’s name is clearly marked on the envelope and the correct is enclosed. Thank you.

PTA Summer Fair – REMINDERS

Hello all,

Hope everyone had a lovely half term break. We are excited about the fair this Saturday and hope to see as many people there as possible.

The fair kicks off at 12 with live music and at 12.30 the children will be sharing their country dancing, gymnastics and ballet performances with you. We will have a little bit more music before we have a flying owl display and then we will be calling the raffle. We have been blown away again by the generous donations of prizes so make sure you grab yourself a chance to win and if you can please do sell a few too!

This year we have a few games inspired by Harry Potter. The Quidditch cup, planting in herbology, making a rainbow in potions class, a Quiz as well as the sorting hat to tell you which house you would be in. There are as well as all of our loved games from the past.

Here are a few reminders for this week…

Tuesday – Book your place to meet an Owl. – There are 35 places to meet an owl. You will have a chance to hold an owl and have a professional photograph taken which will be printed and returned to the school for you to have as a keepsake. It is £5 and we are selling these pre-bookable tickets as first come first served from Tuesday. A member of the PTA will be at school from 8.30 to take bookings and payment and then after school from 3pm to take bookings.

Tuesday – Please return your tombolo bags to the school office

Thursday – Year 4 ONLY . Non Uniform day in return for bottles for the tombolo stand.

Friday – Non uniform day for all other years.

Reception/Year 1 and Year 3 – Retro Sweets wrapped – No Chocolate please.
Year 2 – Potions donations – separate e.mail to follow.
Year 5/6 – Bottles for the tombola
Don’t forget to book yourself into Floreys Tearoom or there will be a BBQ on the day.
